Fifteen boys and girls from the area participated in the Free Throw Challenge held at St.Viator High School in Arlington Hts., IL.  This event was coordinated by Sir Knights Ken Kudla and Randy Baker.

This annual event is open to youngsters 10 through 14 years of age. The first section is held at the "Council" level.  Winners continue up the ladder to the "District," "Regional," "State," and finally to the "International" level of competition.  The winners by age group are determined by successfully achieving the highest number of free throws in fifteen (15) attempts. Scoring for boys is separate from girls. Tiebreakers consist of five (5) shot shootoffs.  Beyond the Council level participants shoot twenty-five (25) shots.

The District level  of competition will also be held at St. Viator High School.  The date is February 22nd beginning at 1:00 pm.  Volunteers for registration and scoring should contact either Ken Kudla or Randy Baker.
