Keep in mind, the more teams we have, the more locations we can cover, the more funds we can raise to help others in need!! CLEARBROOK DINNER DANCE

Our October dinner dance for the developmentally disabled will be held Friday, October 2nd, at 6:30pm. It will last until about 9:30pm. We serve these fine folks a nice meal along with an evening of live music. You can help out or just observe the event. Please feel free to bring your wife or significant other. Ladies' Auxiliary members are more than welcome. There is a reward for attending this event-you take home a big batch of "warm fuzzies" because you care.

UNITY THROUGH CHARITY

Our Council, at the June meeting, made donations to the following:

$100.00 donation to a 42 year individual in Clearbrook's "Group Work Environment" who had earned 5 cents to 12 cents per hour for piece work. Although, this per hour rate is very small, it did create for the individual great worth and self esteem as the individual was recognized as a productive member of society. Unfortunately, this hourly per diem was stopped due to fiscal cutbacks in Illinois's State Government. Our donation creates for her recognition and perhaps a greater awareness of our need as Catholics to support the less fortunate in good works, civil responsibil-ity and prayers.

YOUR BUILDING CORPORATION NEWS

Part Time Employment -- The Building Corp is currently looking for an individual to do janitorial work. This is regularly scheduled work that is not related to event clean up. Anyone interested contact the Randy Howell for details, (847) 255-4483.

INSURANCE NEWS
September is Life Insurance Awareness Month. To help educate consumers about the need for and value of adequate life insurance protection, the Life Insurance Market Research Association (LIMRA) has published the following five facts. These statistics are certainly worth considering.

Fact 1: Nearly three-fourths of North Americans agree that life insurance is the best way to protect against premature death of the pri-mary wage earner.

Fact 2: Twenty-four million households have no life insurance protection at all. Almost one third of adults have no life insurance protec-tion.

Fact 3: Forty-four percent of all households either don’t own life insurance and believe they should, or own life insurance and believe they need more. Among those that already own some life insurance, 40 percent believe they don’t have enough.

Fact 4: One-fourth of primary wage earners feel they do not have a plan in place to provide a decent standard of living for their family if they died tomorrow. Twelve percent of families would immediately have trouble meeting everyday living expenses and another 15 per-cent would have difficulty keeping up after several months.

Fact 5: People would like to discuss life insurance with a qualified professional agent. They believe that buying life insurance is an impor-tant and complex financial decision. Half find it difficult to decide how much to buy, and 43 percent worry about making the wrong decision.

I’d like to meet with you in your home, at your convenience. I’ll work with you to make sure your family is protected. As a brother Knight you can trust, I’ll take the stress and worry out of the buying decision.

RESPECT LIFE

Dear Brother Knights,

Please consider purchasing a 1/8th page ad in the Women's Center ad booklet for the 14 February 2010 Life Banquet. This year is the 25th anniversary of the Women's Center and, praise be to God, because of its extraordinary work in counseling women in crisis pregnancies, 34,000 children have been saved! A 1/8 page ad costs $100. Please look into your hearts and contemplate whether this might very well be the most important charitable contribution you make this year. For order forms please contact me at 847-506-1618. With a new assault on life seemingly taking place every week, it is more vital than ever that we heartily support the people in our midst who have made it their lives' work to protect unborn children from the abomination that is abortion. I thank you, my brothers.

Jim McPherrin, Respect Life Representative
