(Use the Calendar button on the K of C home page to View the entire calendar.)

Message from OUR GRAND KNIGHT

Brother Knights and Sir Knights,

I hope that your Easter season was an opportunity to come together with family, friends, and fellow Knights in fellowship and worship.

As the fraternal year winds down, we still have a number of events planned, including honoring our Life members at the May social meeting and the installation of the 2009-2010 officers at the June social meeting. We also have the Clearbrook dance on May 1 and the May crowning on May 12.

Now that Spring finally appears to have arrived, let’s get out and have some fun.

Bob Holpuch GK

Mother Mary, May I Take 3 Giant Steps – Bible / Prayer / Catechism

Are you interested in increasing your spirituality and your knowledge of the Catholic faith? Come join us for Mother Mary, May I … which is held at the Knights’ Hall on the last Wednesday of every month at 7:15 p.m.  In May, the focus wil shift to the Acts of the Apostles and continue with the sacraments. We will hear noted Catholic bible scholar, Jeff Cavins, discuss Acts and listen to Fr. John Corapi explain the sacraments based on their descriptions in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

On Wednesday, May 27, at 7:15 p.m., we will begin with the rosary, view the Jeff Cavins DVD on Acts chapters 1 - 8 (the foundation of the Church), recite the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and view the Fr. Corapi DVD on “The Mystery and Worship of the Eucharist.” This session will be repeated at the home of the Schoenwalds' on Saturday, June 6, at 9:45 a.m.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Unity in Charity -- Our Council, at the April meeting, made donations to the following "respect life" organizations: Pro-Life Action League,

Rest in His Arms, Women's Center and St. James Respect Life Team.

Our annual Respect Life Campaign is currently in progress. Please consider making a donation. A mailing was made the 1st week in April. Your support is needed both in prayer and contribution to keep abortion in check and to save babies from being murdered.

Our Council also donations to the following charities: Little Sisters of the Poor and The Little Audrey Santo Foundation, Inc. Both donations were made in memory of Fr. Thomas McCarthy, our Chaplin, who passed away last year. The Audrey Santo foundation is pursuing the canonization of "Little Audrey" Additional information is available at http://www.medjugorjeusa.org/audrey.htm   Fr. Tom in his book,"Forever a Priest", was concelebrating Mass in the little chapel of the Santo home in Worchester, Massachusetts. At the moment of the elevation, a small host lying on the paten began to bleed. Father McCarthy witnessed this event. Several members of the Council have purchased his book. If you want to read it, ask around at one of our social or business meetings.

The "Charity Committee" meets monthly on the third Thursday at 7:30 PM, just before the social meeting. It welcomes requests for donations to" qualified" charitable and respect life organizations.

Message from our Insurance Agent

It seems like just yesterday…

Any parent reading this will quickly come up with countless ways to complete that last sentence. The point is – time flies, and tomorrow will (has!) arrive quicker than expected. Will you be ready?

If you meet annually with your professional Knights of Columbus agent, and address the needs that his analysis uncovers, the answer – at least financially – will be ‘Yes.’ During that annual visit, he’ll take the time to review your needs, goals and budget. And he’ll recommend a program of life insurance, long term care insurance and guaranteed income annuities that will help you rest easy at night.

Paying for college for your children may be one of my family’s current needs. Or you may be concerned about a comfortable, worry-free retirement. Or about needing costly long term care that could deplete your hard-earned assets. Or about having something to leave for your children or grandchildren.

Whatever your needs, whatever your concerns, I can help.

As a professional agent and a brother Knight, I have no greater responsibility.
